Close encounter with whales

On the California coast two divers almost got swallowed by whales. Snorkelers Shawn Stamback and Francis Antigua experienced a very close encounter with two big humpback whales. Whales were going to enjoy some "fast food" and were chasing a school of anchovies which swam towards the unlucky divers. Whales surfaced mouths wide open and it was only a rough meter away for divers to end up as a lunch. See the breathtaking moment captured on video.

Remember though that humpback whales are gentle giants and aren't dangerous to humans in normal situations. Fortunately, their lunch menu doesn't include us and they were only chasing the school of fish which swam amongst the snorkelers. Francis, who was one of the divers thought also that whales possibly sensed and avoided them on purpose.
